Solar arrays are starting to take on visible positions in front of businesses, and Home Savings Bank in Jefferson City, Mo., wanted to make sure their commitment to solar wasn’t just hidden on the roof.
The bank put it right out front: It can’t help but highlight its 26.6kW solar carport. Standing at 100-feet wide, the solar carport is a visible reminder of Home Savings Bank’s commitment to the community and the environment.
The solar carport consists of 140 Lumos Solar’s LSX200 Series frameless solar modules. By using Lumos LSX modules, local solar installer Missouri Solar Applications was able to create a visually attractive structure to match the bank’s existing architecture. In addition, the structure has been made weather resistant using LSXSeal. Such a feature would not have been possible if not for the LSX module system. The system’s through-bolt feature allows modules to be mounted with an easily sealable 1/4-inch gap.
With more than 100 years of service in the community, Home Savings Bank continues to work with Jefferson City for its future. The addition of solar will help the bank save on its utility bills for years to come while providing a cleaner environment for the community. Another benefit of a solar carport has already received positive feedback from customers, who are not only appreciative of the solar, but are grateful for the covered parking — especially on rainy or snowy days.
