Among the reasons the Unirac says the GMS is easy to install include the new proprietary Integrated Bonding Clamp, which reduces the number of grounding lugs and amount of copper wire required for a project, and pre-assembled beam clamps enabling quick installation of EW beams to Top Chord.
Unirac, a Hilti Group Company and leading provider of high quality, competitive PV mounting solutions in North America, has been selected by Dynamic Solar Solutions to provide 469 kW of Ground Mount Steel (GMS) for installation in Christiansted, a town on the island of Saint Croix, a district of the United States Virgin Islands. The project broke ground in late December 2013 and is scheduled to be completed in April 2014.
The array will support the energy needs for the Federal Building and Courthouse of St. Croix, making it the first General Services Administration (GSA) building in the United States to achieve a net zero energy consumption rating. The project is part of an Energy Savings Performance contract (ESCO) between Schneider Electric and GSA with a performance guarantee of 18 years.
