Yingli Solar, a global vertically integrated photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer, supplied 10 megawatts of multicrystalline PV modules to Solarcentury Holdings, a solar company in the United Kingdom (UK).
In terms of the agreement between Yingli and Solarcentury, Yingli is the sole supplier and has completed the delivery of approximately 40,000 PV modules at the end of February. These modules will be installed on the Isle of Sheppey, which is located approximately 52 miles east of London.
The project will produce approximately 10,000 MWh of electricity per year, enough electricity to supply around 3,000 typical homes. The plant is being acquired by the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (BSIF), the first UK solar-focused fund listed on the London Stock Exchange.
BSIF has acquired $240 million of large scale solar assets in the UK since July 2013 and is advised by Bluefield Partners LLP.
