German-headquartered solar specialist Hanwha Q Cells strengthened its position in France’s PV market by opening its first office in the country.

Based in Aix-en-Provence near Marseille, the new office will be run by Philippe Pflieger, Hanwha Q CELLS’ newly appointed head of sales for France. Moreover will French PV customers continuously benefit from the “Made in EU” certificate, which the company has received for the second time after again fully meeting all obligations of the French certification agency Certisolis. According to the company’s international market offensive in 2014, it is well positioned to develop solar power in France.

According to analysts at NPD Solarbuzz, France will be one of the recovering European PV markets in this year next to Germany, United Kingdom and Italy. Thanks to its high irradiation, PV makes a lot of sense in France’s sunny regions, which will allow Q Cells’ well-established business with developers and wholesalers to grow. In the next step, it will focus on long-term partnerships with installers in the whole country.

Hanwha Q CELLS again received the Certisolis “Made in EU” certificate for manufacturing solar cells and solar modules comprised entirely of European components. This enables French customers to receive a bonus of up to 10% on the French feed-in tariff. The certificate also demonstrates that European customers can rely on Hanwha Q CELLS to engineer and manufacture high quality products in Germany and within the European Union.
