Meteodyn and Steadysun have signed a commercial and technological cooperation agreement to offer a comprehensive solution for renewable energy operators and network managers.

Meteodyn is a world expert in wind resource assessment and energy production forecast, while Steadysun is a recognized expert in solar production forecast. For the wind and solar sectors, the issues are similar: the aim is to most closely assess production in order to use in an efficient manner the energy produced in electrical systems (smart-grid, isolated site, distribution grid, transmission grid). Meteodyn and Steadysun software and tools have the same goal: anticipate production ups and downs to reduce uncertainty for managers and operators.

meteosteadyThanks to Steadysun, Meteodyn will be able to complete its range of forecast services and provide its customers with a real control over their production. Especially in China and India where wind forecasting is already well established.

Jean-Claude Houbart, CEO of Meteodyn, said: “With this partnership we can now provide a complete solar solution to our customers. Indeed, based on our experience in the development of wind energy software, we also offer a service for estimating solar resources. Steadysun allows us to complete our offer thanks to high quality technologies: weather forecasting models, satellite imagery, video camera and image processing on site.”

Beyond commercial cooperation, it is clear that the technologies, analytical tools and systems used by Meteodyn and Steadysun are complementary and enable mutual enrichment.

Xavier Le Pivert, President of Steadysun, added: “As a specialist in solar production forecast, we noticed the advantage of offering a global solution. We can now share our expertise, as well as our knowledge of weather models, satellite imaging and processing. This partnership will also allow us to quickly access two high-growth markets such as India and China.”
