Boviet Solar USA, a solely owned subsidiary of Powerway Group Co. and manufacturer with the largest, state-of-the-art solar cell and manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, announced today that its modules have passed the industry’s highest long-term reliability tests, far exceeding the IEC standards.
Solar module’s degradation in their 25-year lifetime is one of the key factors to determine a solar project’s investment return. Current qualification testing standards only uncover module construction issues and the degradation of the modules in standard conditions. The accelerated stress tests that Boviet Solar modules have undergone introduce the failure modes of the solar modules subjected to real field conditions.
Boviet Solar modules were subjected to damp heat testing three times the current IEC 61215 test requirements and underwent thermal cycling and humidity freezing tests that exceeded IEC requirements by fourfold. The solar modules were tested for potential induced degradation (PID) for one of the longest durations in testing protocol, well beyond the current IEC 62804 standard. The testing requirements the modules passed exceeded the California Energy Commission’s optional Qualification Plus Performance and Durability testing, a newly-proposed set of tests that sets a new standard beyond the IEC 61215. Achieving this level of certification on their solar modules further warrants the quality, reliability and long-term performance of Boviet Solar modules.
