RT-[E] Mount and E Mount AIR manufactured by Roof Tech Inc, recently received an evaluation reportESR#3575 from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), providing evidence that the PV Mounting system with Integrated Flexible Flashing meets code requirements. Building officials, architects, contractors, specifiers, designers and others utilize ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide a basis for using or approving Roof Tech’s PV Mounting Systems in construction projects under the 2015 International Building Code and International Residential Code.

ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian explains why ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are so important. “Roof Tech can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets 2015 IBC and 2015 IRC Code requirements,” Moinian said. “Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource with the highest quality of product review for the building department.  Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency.”

ICC-ES thoroughly examined Roof Tech’s product information, test reports, calculations, quality control methods and other factors to ensure the product is code-compliant. “Roof Tech has a proven and unique rail-free PV mounting system that is 100% waterproof and can last the life of the Solar PV array with the least impact on the anchoring of the PV system on the roof. Roof Tech’s mounting systems minimize the effects of thermal stress often caused by contraction and expansion of a PV array, while greatly reducing installation time.” said Milton Nogueira, M.E. Roof Tech Senior Business Development Manager.

A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States’ leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports (ESRs), Building Product Listings and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical standards. Reports from both listing programs are now accepted in Canada. ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council® (ICC®). For more information, please visit www.icc-es.org.
