Yeloha announced today that its Solar Sharing Network has been named the Best Green Website by the 2016 Webby Awards. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence, innovation and inspiration on the Internet. By winning this award, Yeloha joins the distinguished group of 2016 Webby winners, including Google, NASA, Spotify, Tumblr, Tinder and other impactful leaders.

Yeloha

Yeloha is a web platform that makes solar energy accessible and transferable, so that those who want to switch to lower-cost, renewable energy but lack a suitable roof, can purchase it via online subscription from those who produce excess of solar energy. Despite the recent short term challenges the industry is facing, Yeloha presents an affordable, differentiated, long-term solution to the reality that we must reduce fossil fuel and fracking reliance, and that hundreds of millions who should be benefitting from solar, are not able to take advantage of what the traditional solar industry has to offer.

“We are truly honored by this recognition. From the beginning, Yeloha has been a disruptive force in solar, breaking with solar convention of ‘solar panels on your own roof’ in that we share the value of clean energy across our network of solar system Hosts, and our online subscribers,” said Amit Rosner, Yeloha CEO and Co-Founder. “Our mission was to create a web platform that is equally disruptive and provides a beautiful, simple, and entirely online experience for doing the right thing.”

“Yeloha has set the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators.”
