Duke Energy Renewables has granted turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to Swinerton Renewable Energy for its Pumpjack and Wildwood PV projects in Bakersfield, Calif.
Duke Energy Renewables acquired the two 20MW projects from Infigen Energy earlier this month. Design and procurement services have already commenced, with both solar farms expected to be operational by the end of the year.
Once operational, both plants will generate enough electricity to power about 10,000 California homes. Duke will sell the energy generated by the plants to Southern California Edison (SCE) through a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Pumpjack and Wildwood will more than double Duke’s solar power capacity in California.
