The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) announced it has launched a national search for a new Executive Director.

Don Warfield, Chair of the NABCEP Board of Directors, said, “We are very excited about the next phase of NABCEP’s organizational development. Our soon to be released NABCEP Associate Credential will allow thousands more candidates the opportunity to attain a NABCEP certification. This and other growth initiatives will be a tremendous opportunity for an Executive Director candidate possessing the knowledge and skills necessary to lead our organization into our next period of growth.”

Headquartered in New York’s Capital District, NABCEP is the premier certification organization serving the clean energy sector. It has grown significantly since it’s founding in 2002, and has benefited from broad stakeholder support and a legacy of effective leadership.

In his letter to the NABCEP board, outgoing Executive Director Richard Lawrence stated: “I am confident that the initiatives implemented during my tenure will provide a strong foundation for the ongoing growth and success of the organization in coming years. This is an exciting time in the solar industry and I look forward to continuing to support NABCEP’s mission in my future professional capacity. I am pleased I will be able to spend more time with my growing family while continuing to work with NABCEP during the transition period and beyond.” Mr. Lawrence will serve as Executive Director until June 1, 2016 after which time he will continue to serve in an ongoing consulting capacity.

Board Chair Warfield remarked, “The Board is grateful to Richard Lawrence, our outgoing Executive Director, and especially wishes to recognize the progress and program enhancements made during his tenure. We appreciate the contributions of our outgoing leadership as well as the exceptional work and dedication of all of our NABCEP staff and volunteers. Their collective work over the past decade has positioned our organization to help the solar industry grow in a responsible manner for the long-term benefit of system owners, product manufacturers, installers, and educational institutions.
