The Intersolar North America conference and exhibition runs July 11 through 14 in San Francisco. While Intersolar North America was established in 2008, the company behind the tradeshow, Solar Promotion International, has been organizing Intersolar events globally for 25 years. This photo gallery takes a look back and across four continents at Intersolars past and present. From the very beginning, Intersolar’s founders have been guided by the vision of a solar future. Today Intersolar is a meeting place for the international solar industry and its partners. Pictured: Hermann Scheer, inventor of the Renewable Energy Law.
In Pforzheim, Solar `97 showcases a small but innovative industry.
Solar `97 starts as a small exhibition in 1991 with five solar companies presenting their products to solar enthusiasts and environmentalists.
In 1999, the Pforzheim event reaches its capacity with 142 exhibitors and 8,400 visitors. With the move to Freiburg, the exhibition changes its name to Intersolar and establishes itself as the largest exhibition for solar technology in Europe.
With 642 exhibitors and 31,964 visitors in 2007, Intersolar also outgrows Freiburg. In 2008, Intersolar moves to Munich, where it develops into the largest global solar exhibition with more than 2,200 exhibitors.
But that’s not all. 2008 sees the inception of Intersolar North America in San Francisco. Today it is the most-attended solar exhibition in the United States.
The sun is rising over the Indian solar market, which is reason enough to introduce Intersolar India in 2009. Today the exhibition is the largest and most international solar market platform in India.
Bem vindos à Intersolar South America: Since 2013, Intersolar has been providing a platform for connecting with key stakeholders in Brazil, Chile and beyond. Pictured: Intersolar South America welcomed more than 9,000 visitors to Sao Paulo in 2015.
High solar irradiation and growing energy demand: The Gulf states are ideally located for generating renewable energy from sunlight. In order to lay the foundation for expanding solar energy, Intersolar Middle East will be launched in 2016.
The themes covered by the exhibitions and conferences always address the particular focuses, aims and challenges of regional markets. Pictured: The Intersolar Europe Conference in Munich, ICM.
Intersolar brings together people, markets and technologies in a unique way. Pictured: Intersolar and CALSEIA’s annual Solar Summerfest – the official networking party to benefit the California solar industry.
Intersolar showcases state-of-the-art technologies, products and the latest market developments in the photovoltaics and energy storage industry on four continents.
The decentralized generation and infeed of energy from renewable sources is changing the ways in which producers and consumers cooperate. Under the title Smart Renewable Energy, Intersolar and ees are focusing particular attention on this topic worldwide.
Spotlight on reporting: 781 journalists attended Intersolar and ees in 2015 worldwide and reported on the newest trends, services and products for the energy supply of the future.
Intersolar has always been a trendsetter! Since 2014, energy storage systems have had an independent event under a new brand – ees (electrical energy storage). The event is staged alongside the other Intersolar exhibitions and conferences.
Visitors flock to Intersolar to see developments in the international solar and energy storage markets first hand. Intersolar Europe 2015 attracted around 38,000 visitors from 165 countries. 51% came from Germany; 49% came from abroad.
