AXITEC Solar announced all its modules successfully passed the sandstorm test according to IEC 60068-2-68, LC2.

In this process the modules were tested under extreme conditions with particles of a size of 250 µm and at a wind speed of 9 m/s.

The sandstorm test is testing the resistance of solar modules in a desert environment. The test shows the reliability, long-life ability and efficiency in an desert environment. In such areas, it can come to efficiency losses and damages due to a lack of rain and high amounts of sand.

The standard tests of IEC 61216 and 61730 did not cover those environments. Thanks to the newest technology in laboratories, Axitec modules were tested in sandstorm conditions at 20 to 30 m/s using different kind of sand as well as different sizes of sand grain.

After the modules were stressed by the sand storm conditions the laboratory is checking the quality and functionality of the module by flashing it under standard test conditions (STC), checking on damages and take an insulation test.
