The US Solar Institute (USSI), located just east of Interstate 95 in Southern Florida, has released its Fall 2016 schedule of classes. One of the top solar education programs in the United States, USSI has been one of the only schools to offer advanced solar training in hands-on and virtual formats since 2008.
USSI offers a fully supervised on-the-job training experience where students build and work on real world solar installations. USSI keeps class sizes small in order to ensure the quality of training given to students.
The faculty members at USSI have spent their lives training and designing, specifying, supervising and building solar projects. These first-hand accounts and experiences of the industry from faculty help students understand what communities, employers, business owners, building officials, engineers and architects demand in this emerging market. USSI has adapted its curriculum to meet the needs of the solar sector by providing real world solar applications and solar installations.
The Department of Education has recognized the value of the education provided at USSI and licensed these diploma programs. Courses available from USSI are:
- PV-101: Fundamentals of Solar Energy (Online)
- PV-201: Introduction to PV Design & Installation (In Class: October 24th-28th)
- PV-301: Advanced PV Installation (In Class: October 31st-November 4th)
- PV-401: On the Job Training (In Class: November 7th-November 11th)
- OSHA 30 hour Construction Safety (Online)
Please note that an alternative (OSHA-10) is also accepted. This course MUST be completed before attending PV-401.
Students from all over the world come to USSI to seek solar education; therefore, class space tends to run out quickly.
Fall 2016 classes still have some spaces available, so register nowto not miss out on the opportunity to become a proficient, in-demand solar professional.
