More than 15,000 industry professionals are expected to arrive at Solar Power International next week in Las Vegas. A few suggestions for the to-do list:
Smart Energy Microgrid Pavilion
SPI is expanding its footprint to include the entire smart building and microgrid ecosystem in the Smart Energy Microgrid Pavilion. The outdoor pavilion will feature a fully-functioning microgrid, energy management systems, automation products, electric vehicle charging stations, energy storage providers, and solar panel manufacturers—ultimately making the connection between solar power and smart products.
General sessions
The general sessions at SPI celebrate the ever emerging possibilities of the solar industry. High-profile speakers bring future insight into the state of our rapidly evolving business. Attendees will leave General Sessions equipped with the key perspectives they will need as they navigate the “what’s next.”
On Monday, Tom Kimbis, interim president of SEIA, and Julia Hamm, president and CEO of SEPA welcome you to Solar Power International with an overview and insights to our industry.
On Tuesday, representatives of NEST, SunRun, Southern California Edison and Sunverge Energy discuss the opportunity-filled challenge of pairing solar with other offerings, such as storage, demand response and energy efficiency.
And on Wednesday, representatives of NRG Renewables, Lennar Ventures, SunLink and SolarEdge discuss what 2017 holds for the solar industry.
Run with the Sun 5K
Solar Power International understands that conferences are not only an opportunity to hear from experts, participate in high-level training and get a pulse on what is happening internationally in the solar arena; it is also a chance to mingle with attendees you may never have the opportunity to meet.
One excellent way to do that is by participating Run with the Sun 5K, which starts at exactly 6 a.m. on September 13. The race will begin at the Las Vegas Country Club east of the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Westgate Hotel. A complementary shuttle will be available from the Westgate Sports Book Entrance to the 5K from 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Registration is available on-site for $40.
Young professionals happy hour
New to solar? The Young Professionals in Solar Energy Reception will be hosted by SPI, sponsored by EnergeiaWorks, Southern California Edison and The Whitham Group, and supported by the NV Energy Foundation. Stop by the Innovation Theater in the Westgate – Paradise Event Center on Wednesday, September 14 at 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to enjoy a drink and to network with other young professionals.
Block Party
Join your SPI colleagues for an exclusive networking party at the brand new OMNIA Nightclub at Caesar’s Palace. Experience Vegas like never before at this multi-million dollar venue that will leave you speechless. Not only does the venue provide a unique ambiance, but the Block Party will feature three DJ’s, a photo booth, and other interactive activities, plus an open bar and a variety of food stations.
Please note, individual sales are sold out. Tickets to the Block Party are only available through purchase of a Full Conference registration.
