ProSight Specialty Insurance today announced that it is enhancing its Solar Contractors program to include a first-of-its-kind Obstruction of Premises Supplemental (OOPS) coverage. This endorsement, which was previously introduced as a part of the company’s Luxury Home Builder’s program, is being extended to all solar contractors with a ProSight policy. Beyond the comprehensive general liability policy that comes standard, the OOPS endorsement delivers added peace-of-mind and protection against mistakes that cause a customer’s home to become uninhabitable.

“Solar energy professionals are inherently exposed to a number of risks throughout the design, installation and maintenance processes. Because of this, incorporating our OOPS coverage into our Solar Contractors program was a priority for us,” saidChristy Fayette, program manager for ProSight’s Solar Contractors program. “Not only does this complimentary endorsement provide a competitive business advantage to our clients, but the extra layer of protection offers peace-of-mind—it puts the success of solar professionals front-and-center, and that is our goal.”

ProSight’s OOPS coverage for its Solar Contractors program includes the following features and benefits:

  • Pays up to $5,000 in eligible living expenses or fair rental value in the event that a solar contractor’s customer’s home becomes uninhabitable during the project
  • Allows for a reasonable reporting window—OOPS is available if solar contractors report an eligible loss within 30 days with proper documentation
  • Extra protection when mistakes happen on the job; solar energy professionals can take comfort knowing they are receiving the gold-standard of insurance coverage for themselves and their customers

The OOPS enhancement further exemplifies ProSight’s commitment to providing tailored solutions to meet the ever-evolving needs of solar professionals and eliminating the need for multiple insurance carriers.
