abbNew range of energy efficient distribution transformer designs – pre-designed to complement ABB’s PVS980 standard solar inverter and compliant with IEC standards – provide quick quotations and expedited delivery for solar farm operators.

ABB’s new set of distribution transformers specifically designed for solar applications are cost efficient and provide fast lead times to reduce the overall solar project implementation process.

The distribution solar transformers offer a range of power and voltage ratings, all of which meet current IEC standards and regulations.

The transformer designs are ready at the time of quotation, which allows you to have drawings up front and eliminate the long specification process. Eliminating the time needed to design a transformer helps reduce your overall operating costs and allows faster solar farm implementation and greater return on investment.

Additionally, these transformers have been standardized for fast production. ABB’s best in class lead times reduce the time required from order to delivery.

ABB has applied its field knowledge from more than eight gigawatts of renewable energy installations to design reliable distribution transformers for this challenging solar environment. These transformers are specifically designed to withstand system harmonics while reducing lead times and variation.

These solar transformers for the IEC market matched to the ABB PVS980 solar inverter are now available. The comprehensive set of distribution transformers has high voltages ranging from 22 to 34.5 kV and low voltages of 600, 630 and 660 volts, totaling almost 50 optimized options. Liquid-filled transformer can be manufactured and tested with mineral oil or ester fluids (natural or synthetic).
