MJP International  announced that it has placed an initial order for two new products from Shenzhen Hopepower Technology Co.

The first product is a 13-W foldable solar panel with dual USB outputs that charges all types of USB-powered devices and will be geared toward the company’s retail consumer market. The second is a 100-W solar panel with 0.5m pv and mca connectors that has diverse power-generation applications in the commercial and residential space.

According to the SEIA, in the last decade, solar has experienced a compound annual growth rate of nearly 60% and over 400,000 American workers are expected to serve the sector by 2020.

The US solar industry installed 14.5 GW of solar power in 2016, a 94% increase over the record 7.5 GW in 2015, according to a new market report by GTM Research and the Solar Energy Industries Association.

For the first time, more solar systems came online than natural gaspower plants–the top source of electricity in the US–in 2015 and 2016, as measured in megawatts. This year, new solar is expected to surpass installations of all other sources.

“We plan to continue bringing high quality products to our market here in the United States as it continues experiencing sustained hypergrowth across all aspects of the industry,” said MJP International’s CEO.
