In recent blog posts. SMA shared updates on recent projects from Hannah Solar and Swinerton Renewable Energy. The project used its inverters.
Springbok 2 solar farms with Swinerton in California
Swinerton Renewable Energy has finished the 155-MW Springbok 2 Solar Farm, which was recently commissioned, in Kern County, north of Los Angeles, California. The project follows the Springbok 1 solar farm, a 105-MW project that was commissioned in early 2016. The solar farms will help Los Angeles meet its renewable energy targets. Combined, they are projected to supply clean power to more than 110,000 homes in Southern California for power offtake partner Southern California Public Power Authority.
Swinerton constructed the project on behalf of 8minutenergy and D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments. Together, both project use a total of 129 SMA Sunny Central 2200-US inverters. SMA says that its Sunny centrals allow for more efficient power plant design and high power density, and provide easy integration.
Savannah Distributing Company with Hannah Solar in Georgia
Hannah Solar also completed a solar installation using SMA inverters for Savannah Distributing Company–a distributor of beer, wine and spirits.
The 113-kW rooftop commercial PV system uses three Sunny Tripower 30000-TL-US inverters in its flexible design. The installation will generate an average of 169,000 kWh annually from 342 solar panels.
