Lafferty Communities is announcing the release of its latest phase in the new home community–Oakwood Shores in Manteca, California. PetersenDean Roofing & Solar will provide solar power systems as a standard feature for the 126 single-family detached homes. The systems are being manufactured exclusively for PetersenDean in the United States by SolarWorld. While many new communities offer solar as an option, this is one of the few in the region that will offer solar as a standard feature on all of its homes.
Simultaneously, the solar energy package will also be offered to homebuyers at Lafferty Community’s Brioso Reserve in Napa, California, and Amber Field in Brentwood, California.
The Oakwood Shores residential project is the first solar-equipped development built by Lafferty Communities and symbolizes the builder’s commitment to promoting energy efficiency and sustainability within its communities.
The solar systems that are being installed on the Bella Vista and Bella Lago homes in Oakwood Shores consist of eight SolarWorld modules coupled with Enphase microinverters, yielding a system size of 2.72-kWdc.
Oakwood Shores is a gated, lakefront community that features a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse with gourmet kitchen and community pool, cabana with a poolside lounge, patio with lake views, a gourmet barbeque area and outdoor fireplace, and the lakeside lifestyle offers opportunities for fishing as well as family parks and children’s play structures.
“We are delighted to partner with Lafferty and SolarWorld on these projects,” said Jim Petersen, founder of PetersenDean. “We need better energy policies and a cleaner and healthier way of living so being able to power your house using renewable resources, is one effective and efficient way. Imagine cutting your energy bill in half, while taking advantage of renewable energy sources like the sun. That’s what these programs are all about.”
