Soltec, a manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers, announces the award of UL 1741 for its unique PV Series Power Supply used for self-powered tracker operation that delivers high-availability to the drive-system with minimum first cost and resulting in the lowest cost of operational power independently at each tracker.

UL 1741, the “standard for inverters, converters, controllers and interconnection system equipment used with distributed energy resources on the electric grid,” has tested the safety and compatibility of the unique PV Series Power Supply for the SF Utility self-powered single-axis tracker.

“This UL certification is an important milestone for our company to offer our customers the latest product innovations, the most cost-effective installation for large scale solar plants, and the lowest operational electricity price on-site,” said Raul Morales, CEO of Soltec.

“The patent pending PV Series Power Supply harnesses tremendous PV string availability to deliver high-availability and reliability to the drive-system, and imposes no impact on revenue generating PV active-area,” said Jose Alfonso Teruel, Director R&D at Soltec.

The SF Utility tracker is also UL 3703 certified which validates tested conformance to safety, mechanical and electrical standards of solar tracking systems. Moreover, the tracker is IEC 62817:2014 standard certified for “Photovoltaic Systems – Design Qualification of Solar Tracker” by the prestigious third-party testing agency TÜV Rheinland which provides stringent functional characterization of solar tracking systems.
