WED Kingstown Solar will install 4.5 MW of solar on Richmond, Rhode Island’s Harvest Acres Farm, according to The Westerly Sun.
The installation will cover 23 acres of land at the farm, divided into two sections to avoid a wetland dividing the property.
During the development planning review process, the Richmond Conservation Commission expressed concerns about the 20 acres of forest that must be removed to install the solar farm. Nevertheless, the city approved the solar farm.
Harvest Acres Farm owner Cindy Duncan told The Westerly Sun she hopes construction can begin as soon as possible.
