KACO new energy, global PV inverter manufacturer, is relocating its North American headquarters from Grass Valley, California to its 60,000 square-foot manufacturing and office space in San Antonio, Texas.
Jurgen Krehnke, KACO’s newly appointed CEO of the Americas says, “With an excellent product portfolio, strong competitive positioning and a dedicated team, KACO is on track to be a top player in the North-, Central and South American solar markets. We are seeing outstanding market acceptance of our inverter solutions and are now hiring a wide range of new positions in San Antonio to unlock the next phase of growth.”
KACO new energy’s 60,000 square foot hub in San Antonio will increase the company’s ability to expand its workforce and manufacturing capacity to serve the North American as well as Central and South American customers. The manufacturing and office space is set-up to provide a state-of-the-art inverter and skid production center with the capability to accommodate at least 200 staff. By June 2014, KACO will have completed the relocation of its headquarters and current staff from Grass Valley, California to Texas. KACO new energy already supplies all inverters and skids for the largest PV project in the state (400 MW). CPS Energy, San Antonio’s municipal utility, is bringing 400 MW of solar power to the Texas grid and adding an estimated 800 permanent jobs. The mega project, developed by OCI Solar Power, will be completed by 2016.
Doyle Beneby, CEO of CPS Energy says, “We were very excited to welcome KACO new energy when they set up shop here and we couldn’t be happier to see a high-quality, global manufacturer like KACO moving their North American headquarters to San Antonio. The opportunities for solar energy in South Texas, the American Southwest, and Latin America continue to grow. CPS Energy and our new energy economy partners have a front row seat and the opportunity to shape the industry in the U.S. It doesn’t get better than that.”
