Synapse Wireless recently released its newest solar technology: an ARC Fault solution integrated within Shoals’ wireless Smart Combiner Box (SMB) solutions that detects faults before they become a problem.
This ARC Fault solution meets NEW 690.11 and UL1699B standards specific to PV ARC Fault detection and disconnection. Wireless sensors detect faults on a per string basis to interrupt or disable problematic connections before they pose a safety risk.
The Smart Combiner Box disables or disconnects system components within the arcing circuit or charge controllers connected to the fault circuit. Its advanced integration features include an ARC Fault Detector Board, Wireless Controller, 1200VDC input 24V output power supply and wireless gateway with MODBUS TCP interface and a scalable design that accommodates 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 and 32 string solutions.
