Taiwan Ziolar Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Auhua Clean Energy, recently entered into a joint development agreement with Purdue University’s Lyles School of Civil Engineering to optimize Taiwan Ziolar’s innovative solar thermal panel design.

“Collaboration with Purdue University will streamline our product development cycle, advance industry applications and raise our product offering to a whole new level,” says Steve Peng, CEO of Taiwan Ziolar.

Purdue University’s civil engineering graduate program is a leader in building technology and energy efficiency research. The Taiwan Ziolar joint project is led by Associate Professor Dr. Ming Qu.

“By using state-of-art software simulation and computerised building models, we are able to provide comprehensive analysis of global climates and geographic profiles to help optimise Taiwan Ziolar’s BIST applications which can be applied throughout the world,” he says.

Purdue University will work with Taiwan Ziolar to enhance Auhua’s existing solar thermal technologies by further developing its advanced composite material and proprietary coating technologies.  These innovations will aim to achieve breakthrough performance in a number of ways, including system efficiency, structural strength, safety, durability, building lighting and thermal management, and advance the Building Integrated Solar Thermal (BIST) applications of the design. All technology developed under the joint development agreement will belong exclusively to Auhua.

“Our acquisition of Ziolar has helped Auhua build its international presence and expand overseas,” says David Sumner, chairman of Auhua. “Property developers are constantly seeking solar technologies that integrate more seamlessly and aesthetically into building design from the outset.  This agreement, which focuses on exactly that, puts us in an even stronger position to continue to attract global partnerships with property developers. ”
