OutBack Power Technologies, a leader in off-grid and Grid/Hybrid renewable energy products and systems, announced more details on its new relationship with HiQ Solar, an innovator in 3-phase power-conversion technology for commercial and industrial solar applications. OutBack’s direct sales group will sell HiQ Solar products through selected distribution sales partners, and HiQ Solar will continue to work with its project partners. Furthermore, OutBack Power’s technical and applications group will support OutBack sales of the HiQ line, and OutBack will provide warranty support as needed.

“In bringing a complete commercial solution to our distributors and installer base, OutBack perfectly complements HiQ Solar,” remarked Harvey Wilkinson, general manager of OutBack Power.  “We can take HiQ’s ‘project-proven’ technology in front of a wider audience and open new opportunities through installers stepping-up their commercial business”

HiQ Solar’s chairman and CEO, Lutz Henckels, provided additional insight. “Our unique technology makes commercial solar ‘plug and play’ feasible. In partnership with OutBack Power, an industry leader, we can now provide that technology with the assurance and support required for many new customers. Together, our two companies have a unique value proposition combining leading-edge innovation with the bankability and long-term dependability needed to ensure customer confidence.”

As solar equipment and pricing policies continue to trend favorably for system owners and operators, businesses are investing more in renewable energy, incentivized by both a “bottom line” economic return through long-term energy savings, as well as the ability to demonstrate greater corporate responsibility. HiQ’s 3-phase “plug and play” system is an advanced solution that can bring commercial-scale solar to a wide audience of design installation professionals and expand OutBack Power’s reach into new markets. “As two solar innovators focused on separate, but complementary markets, this is an ideal alignment,” commented Henckels when the partnership was announced this past May.

The two companies will be exhibiting at Intersolar North America in San Francisco July 12-14 in July.  Visit OutBack Power at booth 8219 and HiQ Solar at booth 8733.
