Eaton will highlight the role microgrid systems have in supporting power resiliency and the effectiveness of distributed energy generation at the 2017 Presidential Climate Leadership Summit on February 13 at the Tempe Mission Palms in Tempe, Arizona. Eaton will moderate and participate in a discussion that aims to help university and college leadership understand the feasibility and financial factors behind microgrid development at the event, which is hosted by Second Nature.
“Microgrids are a natural extension of the energy resiliency initiatives that colleges and universities have already embarked on and the typical characteristics of their campuses can accommodate a microgrid system to power critical functions, even when the grid is off,” said Justin Carron, global segment manager, Eaton. “There is a tremendous opportunity to help educational facilities take control of their power system, reduce energy consumption and support the expectations of the communities they serve to provide safe, reliable power, even when the electrical grid is off. At the conference, Eaton will discuss how educational institutions can address critical power management challenges.”
Carron will moderate a session on “Maximizing the Effectiveness of Distributed Generation with Microgrid Energy Systems. The session will take place on Monday, February 13 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Session participants include:

The session is designed to help participants address the unique requirements of any size educational facility in developing distributed generation or microgrid systems, identify power system design considerations and analyze the components of a fully functioning independent power generation and distribution system.
